What's New? - NCCAOM's Focus on Ethics

NCCAOM introduces its first online course designed to educate you as a healthcare practitioner to become aware of your legal obligations and exposure. This Course, Professional Ethics and Liability, joins the other impressive ethics courses listed on the NCCAOM PDA Search Engine. The course presented by Betsy Smith, Deputy Director, NCCAOM and Michael Taromina, Esq., Chair of NCCAOM PEDC Committee, focuses on the Diplomates’ relationship to the NCCAOM Disciplinary process, specifically, the NCCAOM Code of Ethics to which all applicants, candidates and Diplomates agree to abide and the NCCAOM Grounds for Professional Discipline. In addition, it also provides valuable information on the relationship between the NCCAOM and state regulatory boards with regard to disciplinary actions. Specifically, learn the Zones of Risk and the most Common Pitfalls for the Well-Intentioned Practitioner!  Learn what constitutes a boundary violation, how to terminate a problem patient and what the difference is between litigation and ethical complaints and much, much more.

What else is new? - Denise Hsu Elected Commissioner

 

NCCAOM Announces Election of New Commissioner

Jacksonville, FL – The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is pleased to announce that Denise Hsu, Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM), has been elected to the Board of Commissioners by the NCCAOM Diplomate population. Hsu will serve a three-year term commencing in winter of 2009.

Hsu has impressive experience with over twenty years of practice in acupuncture and Chinese herbology treating pain syndromes, women's diseases, allergies, asthma, stress and general healthcare ailments. Click for full Press Release.

The Registry is designed for individuals seeking practitioners who are nationally certifed in one or more areas: Oriental medicine, acupuncture, Chinese herbology and Asian bodwork therapy.
